Who is a good candidate?
- Individuals experiencing significant back, shoulder, neck pain as well as
shoulder grooving and skin rashes caused by the size and weight of their
breasts
- Individuals struggling with physical activity
- Individuals with realistic expectations and goals
How to Prepare for Surgery
- You will need to do bloodwork and have an updated mammogram if you are over
40 years old (or have a significant personal or family history of breast
disease)
- Stop smoking for 4-6 weeks
- Avoid herbal supplements for 2 weeks

Anesthesia

- Around the nipple
- Vertical incision on the lower pole of the breast
- Along the breast crease
Post-op

Wound care
- You will have a dressing and compression garment that you will wear for 1
week. This will be changed during your first follow-up visit and you will
wear a surgical bra without a wire for 4-6 weeks.

Return to light work
